Believe it or not, our students are not the only learners at Toowoomba West Special School! Our teaching staff continue their journey as lifelong learners throughout the year via a diverse range of professional development opportunities such as workshops, seminars, conferences and involvement in professional learning communities.  Teacher (and lifelong learner) Michelle Troughton has engaged in Intensive Interaction studies with Dr Mark Barber to enhance her role as a practitioner and to further support the facilitation of II with our students.  Dr. Mark Barber is a key practitioner and academic in the development of Intensive Interaction as a strategy for people with profound and multiple impairments. Teachers and Teacher Aides will be engaging in a two day workshop with Principal Project Officer and experienced practitioner Janee Williamson in May to futher develop their knowledge and skills around Intensive Interaction.
